Entering exhibits in the Brightwater Horticultural Society Spring and Summer Shows is easy and open to everyone. We use a simple, self-serve entry system designed to make exhibiting straightforward for both experienced exhibitors and first-time entrants. Just choose your classes, stage your exhibits on the Friday before the show, and complete an entry card for each item.

Entries for the show must be staged on Friday between the hours of 11am and 7pm.
There will be plenty of people at the hall on staging day to help you locate your staging site, complete your entry card and even provide helpful advice on how to present your exhibits for the best results 🙂
No – anyone can enter an exhibit and it’s free.
It’s free to enter exhibits into all sections. If you wish to visit the show there is an entry fee of $5. Children and members may enter for free.
Prize giving is held at 4pm on Saturday.
Exhibits may not be removed without permission until after prize giving at 4pm.

Brightwater Public Hall is located in Centennial Park off Lord Rutherford Road in Brightwater.
1 All exhibits for competitions must be bona fide property of the competitor, and must have been in his (or her) possession for at least two calendar months previous to the exhibition except (a) in the case of an exhibitor who has just recently imported any new or rare plants; (b) flowers for decorative exhibits. All pot plants must have been in pots for a like period.
2In the main flower sections for all shows, the following will apply:
Open sections may be contested by ALL (includes commercial growers, professionals, home gardeners, instructors, etc).
Amateur sections Persons who grow flowers for enjoyment only, NOT for profit on a commercial scale. This does not exclude persons who sell surplus stock occasionally.
3NO exhibits may be removed without permission before closing time on the final day of the show (4pm). Prize giving is at 4pm.
4All protests against the awards of Judges must be made in writing and delivered to the secretary on the first day of the Show. Such protests shall be considered by the Committee or a duly appointed Sub-committee as soon as possible after the receipt and the decision of the Committee or Sub-committee shall be final.
5TROPHIES, ROSETTES, AWARDS, and CERTIFICATES will be awarded according to the schedule at the Judges discretion.
6Entries must be staged between the hours of 11am and 7pm.
